Project overview
A domed bay roof clad in lead, dressed to the curve and jointed with rolls — traditional roofing skills on a period house.
Curved bay roofs like this one can only be done properly by hand. Each bay of lead is cut, dressed to the curve and joined with rolls so that it can move with the seasons without splitting.
The work was carried out from scaffolding, with the new lead finished neatly into the brickwork above.
