Plastering and decorating are the trades everyone sees. They are also the ones that show up every shortcut taken earlier in a job. We re-plaster and skim walls and ceilings, repair cracks and damage, and decorate with proper preparation so the finish lasts.
We carry out plastering and decorating as standalone work and as part of larger refurbishments, extensions and insurance repairs.

Preparation first
The difference between a finish that lasts and one that cracks or flakes within a year is preparation. We strip back failing paper and paint, fill and sand properly, deal with any damp or water staining at the source, and use the right primers before any finish coats.
After a leak
Water-damaged plaster often needs to come off and be replaced once the wall is dry. We carried out full re-plastering and redecoration throughout a house damaged by a water tank leak — see the case study in our projects.

Should I skim or re-plaster?
If the existing plaster is sound, a skim coat gives a smooth new finish. If it is blown, cracked or water-damaged, it needs to come off and be re-plastered.
How long before I can paint new plaster?
New plaster needs to dry fully before decorating — usually a few weeks, depending on thickness and conditions. We plan the programme around it.
Do you decorate outside as well?
Yes, including window frames, doors and masonry.
